And they have a lot to talk about, including a write-in from MVP listener Silkenit.
I think this is his second or third question, if I'm not mistaken.
Killing it on the question front, Silkenit asks, Do you think we are in a period of really high quality games? In parentheses, feels like any game releasing in 2026 is 80 plus, except Wolverine and Beastly Reincarnation.
Or are we in a bit of a score inflation? Maybe due to outlets doing what SG does and reviewing only the most interesting ones and giving the review to reviewers already prone to liking that genre.
First, I want to like... just put extra context in terms of what he means by what SG does.
What he means by that is we are hobbyists.
We just do this for fun.
It's not our job.
If you look at somewhere like IGN, obviously they pay all their writers.
The writers are doing it as a job.
And regardless of what they feel about a game or a genre or whatever, just in general what they feel like playing they have to play this game they have to get this review it has to be on a deadline and that can lead to you playing games you don't like and that's it basically if you look at season gaming's average score it's way higher than most outlets because if the game comes out that we think looks bad or we or we just don't want to review it because we don't think we'll like it we just don't do that uh so our average scores are higher now Before I hand it over to you, Alex, I just want to give a bit of extra context for this year in particular.
Because he's talking about...
Basically saying, are the games actually this good? Because the scores that we're seeing are really high.
Or is there score inflation? Now, I want to give you a list of...
Everything that released so far this year...
Well, a big chunk of what released.
There's some indie games that had lower total reviews.
So it kind of skews the averages that I did not include.
But this is a...
Basically, a good snap of everything that's an 85 on meta or higher.
We have Witcher 3 Remastered, 93.
Mina the Hollower, 90.
Trails in the Sky, second chapter, 90.
