I would like Galway Bay FM to raise this issue with Galway GA and ask why they were charged €20 when 16-year-olds are supposed to be admitted free of charge.
The woman at the gate refused to allow them entry unless they each paid €20 and she stated that they were being charged because they were not accompanied by their parents.
I believe this deserves to be discussed publicly and clarified by Galway GA. Oli, your thoughts?
Yeah, I'm surprised and shocked because this doesn't come across our desk too often.
GoAGA are very good in publicising the fact that under-16s are admitted free of charge.
I don't see anything on the pre-match publications about having to have their parents or else they'll be charged €20.
So I think this is somebody probably being more than a little unreasonable at the gate in terms of, look at if they're kids and if they're very obviously under-16s.
OAPs, they are required to provide the relevant ID and that's fair enough because you'll always have chancellors who will, you know, try and say they're one or the other.
They've been very good the last few years going with GA and making sure under-16s get in for free.
I would say to that parent or whoever's involved with these young kids, I'd get in contact with somebody in the hurling committee because, you know, I think they will try and rectify that situation, especially for the county final if they're Loughrae supporters.
Yeah, let's move on to the hurling because there was a historic win for Tommy Larkins and Lockray were like Lazarus.
