Can you tell us a little bit about that journey and like, how you were relating to food then versus now?
So what I've come to learn from my own disordered eating and I'm working with so many other people is there's always some trauma at the root of it because the whole purpose of, you know, we call it disordered eating, but really it's eating to make order, you know, when there's so much chaos.
And so what binging makes order of is it represses the activation and the anxiety that's coming up that you don't know what to do with the panic, the fear, the shame, whatever it is.
And I went through a period of time in my life where I was consistently molested and sexually assaulted.
That parallels when my binge eating began, which I didn't realize until I got older and I started doing this work with people and tracking my own as we do.
