Our First Look At FC 27 #W44

There have been sort of feature reveals.

Um, but I guess the first thing first, the thing that's drawn probably the biggest reaction is the fact we have an extra edition this cycle.

Um, so in the past we've had ...

Actually, there's technically two extra editions.

We'll, we'll get to that.

Um, but, uh, in the past there's been FC, what, 26 Standard Edition, and then FC 26, uh, Ultimate Edition.

And this cycle there is the FC 27 Ultimate Edition Plus, essentially.

I mean, yeah, it, it would be a plus, wouldn't it, uh, based on EA's terminology at the moment.

Um, but actually also interestingly, and something that I haven't seen people talking about too much, is that there is, uh, an FC 27 Lite edition, um, which is interesting because I guess in the past we've had demos, and this isn't really a demo, but it will allow people to basically get the game completely for free, play, uh, kickoff, and also play, um, online seasons, I think, or online friendlies.

Is it online friendlies?

Yes.

Um, yeah.

So, uh, it's gonna give people a taste of the game who maybe, you know, aren't necessarily sure they're gonna buy it straight away, um, which is interesting.

Or, or maybe, you know, give people the chance to try it as if it was a demo.

Um, so that's interesting, although probably not super interesting to the audience here because I'm sure most of you, um, are not gonna be just getting [laughs] a non-Ultimate Team version of the game.

Um, so really you've got the Standard Edition, um, the, uh, Ultimate Edition, and the Ultimate Plus Edition.

And basically one of the biggest talking points has been, as you can imagine, the fact that that, uh, Ultimate Plus Edition is, what, 140 British pounds or $149 I think it is.

So, you know, another 40-odd pounds or so over, can't remember exactly how much the Standard ... uh, the Ultimate Edition is now.

Um, but a, a, a significant increase basically over the Ultimate Edition.

Um, I guess first things first, it does always feel like when things have a high price point, uh, in the world of FC or Ultimate Team, I mean, I guess the same anywhere, people are like, "This is bad.

That's expensive.

We didn't ask for that." And that's the initial reaction.

Yeah, yeah.

Um, I, I'm gonna liken this to, uh, actually walking into a supermarket and being re- or, or, or even say, you know, walking past Starbucks or wherever and g- and being really annoyed that they're charging £5 for a toastie or for, you know, like a tuna melt.

Uh, and going, "But I can get a loaf of bread for a pound." Because I, I'm, I ...
