Episode 020 - A Hall of Fame Quarterback's Secret He's Never Told in Any Interview (Pt 1)

Friends & Legends with Skip Martin Host: Skip Martin Summary: Skip Martin sits down with Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon, a friendship that started at a Kentucky Derby buffet over a plate of pancakes and grits. Warren takes it back to Pop Warner football in Los Angeles, losing his dad at seven and becoming the man of a house with six sisters, and a mother who made it all work and is still here at ninety-nine. He talks about the long road to the NFL: junior college, the University of Washington, and a detour through the Canadian Football League when nobody at home would give him the chance to play quarterback. Skip matches it with his own fight to play the lead bugle line, the real origin of the word "cats", and the reveal Warren says he has never shared in any interview. Part 1 of a two-part conversation.
