Perfection is not a word I'd normally use to characterize a roguelite. But in this instance it absolutely remains to be true. Hot on the hells of Will and I playing Slay the Spire with the amazing…
But I wanted to hear, like, what did you think of the first game and your history with roguelike deck builders?
I liked the first game.
It actually, I think I put about 60 hours into it, but I was getting into it and getting into it, but I was kind of late coming in, getting into Slay the Spire.
Yeah.
And the second one, this one came out as I was kind of getting into the first one.
So I put 60 hours in and then at that point, the second one came out.
I was like, well, what's the point of playing this one anymore? So I'll move on to the second one.
yeah but in terms of uh roguelike deck deck builders i am a
i guess you could say a seasoned veteran okay now roguelike deck builders maybe not so much uh i'm uh i did play the bazaar for a long time i have uh over a thousand hours in the bazaar which is holy which is a roguelike deck builder from a tempo storm who was a an ex hearthstone pro interesting it's a game by an ex hearthstone pro named rain ad um he was like a back in the day in the hearthstone days he pioneered a lot of decks like he created a lot of metas oh really yeah he was one of the best one of the best and he was hilarious too very salty like whenever he would lose like he would get so mad it was it was He was very funny to watch.
Yeah.
But I remember him quitting.
And it was years and years in the making.
And I was like, man, I can't wait till that game actually comes out.
And then it finally did like in 2024, I think November 24.
And I was like, I backed it early, like a backer i bought like a package or whatever and it came out in beta and i got part of the beta and i loved it it's awesome yeah awesome awesome game and uh so i i'm a i got to let i would legend four-time legend rank in the bazaar uh hearthstone i played thousands of hours of i'm friggin i don't know man like local uh i've played pokemon tcg deck building and that is was fun yeah physical card games i have a deck builder lord of the rings game that i really like uh that's kind of a pve scenario game that you play against um you play against the the scenario and try to beat it you try to build your deck toward towards finishing the objectives and and not dying in that that's super fun
okay
what else uh there's another game a gloomhaven i don't know if you've ever played gloomhaven or heard of gloomhaven it's like a dungeon crawler yeah it's like a dungeon crawler kind of deck builder that uh you play with friends again it's a scenario you play against the scenario and you build your deck to beat uh to beat the scenario so i have a lot of experience in deck builders but the roguelike i think i've only played like the bazaar and uh and the slay the spires so three maybe yeah
okay you have extensive experience much more than i uh because when it comes obviously like i've played plenty of rogue likes you know you're the hades of the world you know the the returnals i haven't actually touched sorrows yet but of course you know i'm familiar with the genre itself in terms of roguelike deck builders not as ball pit So I did play ball pit and then I love ball pit
rocks.
