In Part 3 of our Jonah series, Darryl takes us deeper into Jonah’s journey, exploring what happens when we keep running from what God has called us to do. From storms and “open doors” to lost precious…
Good morning, welcome.
Wonderful to be together this morning.
I thought of welcoming the visitors.
Just to tell you that we are in a series as a church in the book of Jonah.
And so if you're visiting for the first time, that's what we've been going through.
There is a lady here who was part of Freedom.
She moved to Longabarn.
She's back here this morning visiting.
Benoni, Annelies, welcome, and your friend who are visiting for the first time.
Should have asked Annelies from Longobarn whether the social media was lying about the flowers.
You know those Nemecula flowers? That's where we were last weekend.
Shot down quickly because social media says, super bloom, go and see the flowers.
Nothing.
Just a couple on the side of the road.
But it was amazing.
We had a super time.
We went to a little town, one horse town.
The horse died a long time ago.
And so we rock up there at the garage.
There's this petrol station with one tank that's working with one petrol attendant.
And so we're lining up there just to quickly get some gas, some of our mates.
And there's a guy who's rocked up there on his motorbike behind us.
waiting patiently for us to fill up.
And then eventually I walked up to him.
I said, hey, how's it? What's your name? He says, Nico.
I said, Nico, where are you from? He says, Benoni.
I thought, my goodness, you can never take Benoni anywhere.
And so Nico, I've invited him to come to church this morning.
I hope he's sitting somewhere here.
Nico, welcome.
Hope you enjoy the service.
My friend, Daughter Sam is with us today.
It is a joy to have you, Sam.
Yeah.
And then I saw the shapers.
Here we go.
Mrs. Shaper.
78 today.
And you sit next to your granddaughter, Britt, who's pregnant.
And I am deeply humbled that you chose to come to a tent today.
on your birthday, to sit with your son and your daughter-in-law and your granddaughter and your soon-to-be great-great.
It is a joy to have you.
So to all the visitors you have this morning, can we give them a warm welcome? Turn with me to Jonah chapter one, seventh last book in the Old Testament.
