A PRESCRIPTION FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

If Italy is the future of Europe, which I believe it is, I went in really not knowing anything about Italy other than some very light history from a 50,000 foot view.

And I knew a little, I knew some bits and pieces from what I can tell.

Every single small business owner that I talked to, every single taxi cab driver that I talked to, every waiter, and every owner of restaurants that we went to, because these restaurants are largely, they're family-owned.

They're small, independent restaurants.

They all said the same thing.

Our country has been overrun by immigrants from Africa, North Africa and the Middle East.

And they are like their words, not mine.

Like locusts on our economy, locusts on our on our way of life.

And they're taking they're taking lower skilled jobs.

They are...

These are the latter jobs which you use to go up into higher skilled jobs.

Yes, I

guess, you know.

But the waiters, and they're like, our economy is so heavily dependent on tourism that half the year we're out of business.

You know, where we were in southern Italy, they closed down October 31 and they reopened around Easter.

And so in their six months, they need to make a year's worth of wages.

Their spouses work.

They have to pay for child care.

Child care is super expensive.

But the immigration problem... has been like locusts in the field.

And one particular business owner, fourth generation Italian, on the Amalfi Coast, heavy tourism place, but beautiful, beautiful land, wonderful people, fourth generation guys, 40 years old, and he said, Europe is gone.

Maybe the UK can salvage it.

The U S still has time, but Europe's gone.

And, uh, Every city was packed.

Rome, Florence, Venice, the Amalfi towns, shoulder to shoulder.
