In your life, has anybody ever told you, "How much do you want?" They gave me an offer of approximately 2,000, $2,500 25 years ago.

That's when people started paying attention and seeing that this guy, he might not be bad for television.

DSTV reaches out and says, "Do you wanna do something?" So I said, "Let me throw them a number which will scare them off, but again, also, I need this opportunity." So I said, "Do you guys mind giving me $90,000?"

And just how famous this show made him.

In Kenya, I used to land at the airport, and I actually used to sign autographs.

"Barack, you think you're the sh- the ish."

I came in second season, and we made them money.

'Cause the show became the highest rated show on Saturday and Sunday, not just in Kenya, but in East Africa.

It became a leviathan.

I think I became a little bit too cocky.

Called in a guy from Kenya called Mad Trax, called in two guys from Jamaica, Wayne Wonder, another guy called DeMarco, and we did a huge concert at the, the biggest venue.

I think we only got probably 2,000, 2,500 people.
