Marriages don't only fall apart from big blowups — they can also crumble from a hundred small moments nobody ever addresses. Today we unpack one habit we call "keeping short accounts," a practice…
If you want to do a search on our site, we call it showing high regard for one another.
And I think when we initially talked about it, we showed this video, the difference between a guy who walks in the door.
But he walks in the door and she barely acknowledges his entrance and barely, you know, and basically doesn't say hi, but it's just like, hey, go grab the kids or hey, so-and-so needs a bath.
As opposed to showing high regard in that instance, husband walks in the door, wife stops what she's doing, says, welcome home.
And ideally this is something that flows out of, you know, an already, you know, I come over to you because I love you and I want to show that affection, but there's days and moments where we don't actually feel it.
And even when we don't feel it, we still get the joy and blessing and duty of showing our affection, you know, to our husband, to our spouse.
Because again, you're, you're building in, you're giving your marriage some debits here, right? Like you're building up that credit.
