So Rose said, Hi, Kevin, I have a question I would like for you to consider for the podcast.

She says, unfortunately, the first time somebody suggested to me that I likely had OCD, I was over 40 years old.

By that time, I had seen multiple clinicians, all of whom naming things that were going on that I had ADHD.

and then I had anxiety, et cetera, and then all of whom also missed OCD as a core piece of the puzzle.

And also, I spent a lot of time and money paying somebody to listen to me ruminate, which I've since realized can look a lot like you're processing things when you're actually very stuck.

I've spent this past year in ERP, and my therapist, an OCD specialist, has started to suggest it's time to push me out of the nest.

I'm struggling because for the better part of a decade, I've been in therapy of some type.

Particularly, or partially, I think I used it as either reassurance seeking or a way to basically outsource or attempt to outsource my decisions as I've become unable to trust myself in any way.

But even though my current clinician is probably right, or my current therapist is probably right, I find myself a bit panicky at this idea.

Am I really ready? Would it be okay to transition back to talk therapy? Or given my personal history with it, would that be a risky proposition? Appreciate any thoughts you have.
