I think that the goal of homemaking is to glorify God, right? With the tools and the things, just exactly what you said.
We're creating a safe place for our family.
A haven is used, that word, but that's sort of an obscure word.
But you're creating a place that your family likes to be at.
And that's hard.
And actually, for me, coming from a place growing up in a home that I actually didn't like to be at, that it really – I did everything I could to not – be at home, actually.
So I think the Lord has really created and given me a heart to create a home that my children want to be at and that they desire to stay there and not run away.
And so I think that by God's grace on me, we've been able to, I think, fairly do that for the most part.
And so that's just been really something important in my life that just from the past that has given me a heart to change for my children and for our home.
And then just to have it be a welcoming place that people can come by and can stop by and it doesn't, yep, there might be toys all over, there's going to be mud and dirt, but please come in and hang out with us and enjoy.
So I think just that things just don't have to be perfect is, is really, I think our desire, even in talking about this, that we really just want to get across it.
It does not have to, your home does not have to look like it just is ready for pictures to be taken.
Amen.
Yep.
Warm and welcoming, not sparkling.
Yes.
Yes.
Brandy, what are some things you orient your home around?
meals, food.
I feel like my whole life is wrapped up around food.
From the first baby you ever have, nursing all the time, then we orient around food.
So the heart of that, though, is really the kitchen table.
I feel like it's such a blessed time.
We recently had a family that was staying with us for a and you could tell it was not their norm to have fellowship after the meal.
