When Joan accepts an invitation from the charismatic Middle Eastern ruler Omar Khalifa to write his biography, she soon discovers that he is actually a ruthless dictator with plans for power.
Together, they must stop Omar's ambition, find the mysterious jewel and rediscover their own romance.
The film was directed by Louis Teague, who made a couple of notable 80s horror movies, Alligator and Cujo, along with the bombastic military flag waver Navy Seals and the film Wedlock, which we've reviewed on this podcast.
