Anyway, so, in my opinion, and a few of the people that I've been talking to, it might be.
Now, what I really, really wanted to get into is kind of like the evidence sort of thing and the corporation stuff behind the people that make these games, because Call of Duty is wildly successful.
We all know that.
It's a huge franchise.
It's made Activision, Treyarch, Sledgehammer, kind of, soon to be a lot, and Infinity Ward a lot of money, even though Infinity Ward did not deserve all of it, especially from Call of Duty Ghosts.
Thank you a lot, jackasses.
But, could Call of Duty... be on the brink of death, so to speak, or just not being published anymore.
Now, the reason being is because the publishers, Activision, which published the game, essentially what they do is, as a publisher, they're the kind of people who, well, I'm not even sure if I know what a publisher does.
They're important people.
I think what they do is they pay the game makers to make the games.
Yes, okay.
So they give the game makers, such as Treyarch, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, the money to make the games.
There we go.
And anyway, so what they do is they make the games with that money.
But if they lose their publisher and they don't get to make any more, or they don't get money to make their games, then we don't get the games because there's no money to make them.
Now, the thing that I'm worried about is Is Activision going to drop Call of Duty and just say, you know what, we're not giving you the money anymore? Now, this does sound kind of like a crazy radical idea, considering the fact that that Activision has made a lot of money off of this game, and it's made a pretty decent percentage of its actual income comes from this game.
So it would be kind of surprising if they did.
However, a new game has been released that is fantastically amazing, and it's also doing fantastically amazing as well.
It is called Destiny, and Activision is publishing this game, which means now Activision has two... or well, one, and a potential extra, the potential being Destiny, huge blow-up moneymaker.
Now, what worries me about the fall or the end of Activision Pain Call of Duty is if Advanced Warfare somehow blows up and sucks, and then what ends up happening is Activision gets tons of money from Destiny and its success blows up and is fantastic-er than it already is, Activision might start leaning the way out of Call of Duty, considering they have another fallback title.
Which kind of worries me, because why would a publisher want to keep a game or franchise running only so that it can compete against itself? Call of Duty and Destiny are both FPSs competing with themselves, published by the same developer.
which is scary stupid because I'm not sure if I've heard of a company holding two wildly successful shooters EA I think they almost did it with Titanfall and Battlefield but for some reason it feels like Titanfall died down I don't know why I really like Titanfall I don't know what's happened though I really like it but I've just never seen a company managed to pull off two of these hugely successful franchises in the form that um that's never happened essentially If Activision does props to them, amazing.
