Ronen Levy has spent his challenging entire industries. After beginning his career as a corporate lawyer, he went on to build companies across medical cannabis, psychedelic therapy, consumer health…
Ronan LevyGuestAdam LevinterHostYou've been across multiple sectors too, from gold, cannabis, psychedelics, pretty wide ranging stuff.

The through line has always been trying to bring integrity to industries that most people think lack integrity, right? You know? Certainly with the gold business, it was an industry dominated, you know, we're both in Toronto.

So you got Harold, the jewelry buyer and Russell Oliver and people who are just, you know, people, people just make fun of them because they're so ridiculous.

But if you actually go to one of those stores, they try and take advantage of people.

People usually are selling gold because they have some sort of economic need and these kind of places just take advantage.

where we were very explicit about our pricing you know you brought in a piece of gold we'd weigh it we'd test it we'd tell you exactly what you had we would show you our prices online and we would do the math and say like here's the offer you can take it or leave it it's up to you but we'd never try to scam you or you know what they would do if you ever walked into one of those shops they would you know you'd show them the gold and then just put money on the table take your gold and walk away and then you'd have to try and stop them to renegotiate and just like it was unclassy in the cannabis business.

So if you guys aren't going to do this, I'm going to take this opportunity and run with it.

And so we kind of got together and at that time I had tried pot maybe four or five times.

And what I learned through that experience is that cannabis can be real medicine.

we were actually changing people's lives, not because we were giving them an opportunity to get high, but because genuinely sick people found relief from cannabis where they couldn't find it from any other conventional medication.
