Gary Morin has been with Benoure Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning since early 2025, and he joins Empowered Owners six months after assuming the President role. He grew up surrounded by the trades…
So you grew up in your family in the trades, but was there a family or your dad, was it a family business or was it mostly working for other companies? What was your experience of the companies that your family was kind of involved with as you were growing up?
So, I mean, I was building decks with him when I was like six or seven years old, learning how to hold nails the right way so you could hammer nails real fast.
and when i was really young probably 10 or 12 we clearly rewired my house and then with my dad we did all the plumbing over and stuff and i just kind of took a liking to that and he was more of a mechanical fitting uh he was a like a fitter welder on that side so when i was young in high school i get to experience some of that from a big boiler room level so and i really took a liking to that it's just big big pipe it was always you know kind of what we call the show pipe A lot of the rough and stuff gets buried in the walls.
And obviously people can see if they go to like Benor's LinkedIn page today, they can see actually like images of what you're talking about, where like literally artwork, the way that some of these systems look when they're installed and they're just, they're literally beautiful.
I mean, so that's something that struck you early, like when you were kind of getting involved with that.
Yeah, and what I love about Vinor is we still hold true to the craftsmanship of the trade, which is soldering.
You know, there's a lot of pro press now, some plastic, you know, pipe and fittings and stuff that people do nowadays, but it just kind of takes away from the craftsmanship of it because... you know, a press tool, literally anybody can do it, but it's, it's really a craftsmanship, but you can see, go in there and see a soldered system.
