EPWS | 11. Allison & Bryce

It's Wedding Story Wednesday! This week on Emily Post Wedding Stories, you're invited to the wedding of Allison and Bryce, which took place on September 23, 2023, in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA. Allison and Bryce’s beautiful, detailed Catholic ceremony was followed by a big wedding reception at the Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. They had to accommodate a huge family guest list - Allison has 40 first cousins alone! With about 60% of their guests saying yes to the invitation, there were still 180 guests! They followed local customs of the groom’s side hosting the rehearsal dinner and the cocktail hour and the bride’s side hosting the wedding reception. Speaking of the reception, the couple had an artist create a live painting of it, which turned out beautifully and fully captured their wedding day. Their first dance was a memorable moment for both, and the couple really enjoyed their sweetheart table, saying it allowed them to relax together and watch their guests enjoy the reception. Allison and Bryce were one of the couples I interviewed for research for our upcoming book Emily Post’s Wedding Etiquette, out in February of 2027. Please excuse any less-than-stellar audio quality.
