In the gospel narratives, We see some people, some nobodies and no ones in the society with the different issues from different backgrounds approaching Jesus in desperation.
He stopped for these people and had time.
For this morning, I've chosen a passage from the Gospel of Luke, chapter 18, verses from 35 to 43, and combined with Mark chapter 10, 46 to 50, to get the full narrative of what had happened to a blind man known as Bartimaeus.
Let me begin with a couple of verses, a few verses.
Luke chapter 18, 35 to 37.
Then it happened as he was coming near Jericho that a sudden blind man sat by the road begging.
And hearing a multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
It was a busy and uneventful time.
Imagine you only have a week left in the country you've been visiting and after that you are going back home.
Church, I want to tell you, when Jesus enters a cursed territory, it becomes a miracle territory.
Your chains of addiction can be broken.
Your prison doors can be shaken.
Even your depression can turn into celebration.
Your broken relationships can be restored.
Your troubled marriages can be filled with rejoicing.
