Ep 33 "8 Anime Premieres You Need on Your Radar This Summer"

Thanks, Willie.

Uh, first, first pick for this is, uh, gonna be the Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky, and that's a, that's a long title.

[laughs]

But, and you, and we've all talked about it before.

Um, Jackie's kinda broadened me and Willie's viewing horizons-

so we'll include some rom-coms.

'Cause, you know, we- we're, we're all guilty of sticking with the, what we love and the norm, and we just, you know, p- you know, wanna see it keep rolling on.

You know, hey, more shonen with some action, and get it, you know, it can be playing in the background, it keeps you going.

But sometimes, like Jackie's shared with us and we've learned, it's kinda nice to take a step back and watch something a little heartwarming, a little bring your faith back into humanity kinda emotions.

And, uh, as we all know, anime's always got these, you know, romantic stories about individuals who, they may be facing some sort of significant, you know, struggle that others may not know.

Or, you know, we've seen the disability ones where they're, you know, they may be deaf or something along those lines, and you, and you see this romance story.

Well, this one centers around an individual, she's a university student who's a blind, uh, woman, and- They do a great job.

I mean, as you see with the art, the art's beautiful.

Um, th- that usually happens with a lot of these rom-com slice of life kind of sh- uh, animes, is you get a lot of detail in the surrounding that really brings you to see the world that they're living in.

It, it makes it...

It, it kind of brings it to life.

Mm-hmm.

So, um, that one thing you, you can always count on when it comes to the, these, these forms of anime.

But what I like about this one is the characters are, are very, um, warm and brings you in-- it brings you to, like, enjoy them, just seeing them interact makes it feel...

It feels, uh, like a group of friends that you would actually like to, you know, like, "Hey, that'd be kinda cool to hang out with," you know?

Yeah.

And, um, s- the way in which the primary character and her, and the man who loves her, and she loves back interact with each other and the world around shows...
