The one anime that I would say it kind of reminds me of when it comes to that just total 180 from what you're expecting from character designs is there's a, um, a show, uh, or an anime called Ranking of Kings.

It's over on Crunchyroll.

And they usually, um, I mean, not usually, but when you look at the character designs, it's just completely different from what you're expecting.

I think it's really good.

Um, cause it also, I thought in my head, I thought they were animated by the same people that did Ranking of Kings.

to where I thought Ranking of Kings was going to be a kid ha-ha anime, and then it gets dark super quick.

So I appreciated the art style right away, but it's not the same studio.

It's two different ones.

Let me see if I can find out the studio.

Wit Studios did Ranking of Kings, and then this one is done by, yeah, something.

All right, and my second question.

Do you have any recs for me in that vein?

More on, like it looks cute but is really dark is Ranking of Kings.

Osama Ranking or Ranking of Kings as my anime of the year.

Now, Osama Ranking was a series that we both loved when it started airing in the fall of 2021.

And by the time we got around to doing our anime awards in early 2022, the second core hadn't fully finished.

In modern anime, honestly.

And so it's really hard to think positively now of Osamu ranking.

I understand that for you, the ending is not as paramount as it is to me, but it's really hard for me to get past that for recommending Ranking of Kings to anyone.

It is tough to get past, and it's not quite on the Wonder Egg priority, complete crash and burn of everything level, but it's one of those where, as somebody who really liked the show, I watched the ending, and then I was kind of like, hmm, I didn't love all these aspects of it, and it kind of ages worse as you think about it more and more over time.
