Eduard BernhardGuestI get quite excited about this one because I think a lot of people are looking for lighter-bodied reds, chillable reds.
So talk to me about this variety, and whilst you do, I might have a sip on a wine that has that grape variety in, and we might talk about it in a second.

I have also a book here which is, um, called Sankt Magdalena, which is, uh, actually a subzone for, for this variety in the city of Bolzano.

I'm located now in this moment, uh, in the city center of Bolzano, and, uh, this, um, this Schiava, this Santa Magdalena, what you are having now is produced in the subzone of Santa Magdalena.

And yeah, you said it already, I think the Schiava, the Santa Magdalena is a very modern wine.

It's the perfect match with so many different dishes, and as you said, you can have this wine also for aperitivo.

So here in, in Alto Adige, it's very common to have aperitivo, and if you have the Schiava chilled, it's, it's, it's, it's perfect, and it's lighter, it's fresh, it's very elegant, and yeah, I love it.
I mean, so a lot of the time people will actually say you're gonna get lots of red fruits, and they describe the grape variety as maybe having this bubblegum, cotton candy note.
I think that's more just in case anyone gets maybe scared that they think they're actually gonna smell or taste cotton candy, but also it's so attractive.

I think it's, it's very accessible, and it's, it's a wine you can have a lot of, of, of pleasure to having it, and I think it's, uh, the, the, the freshness and the, the, the great aroma and the, the balance which will, will make this, um, a great, a great glass of wine, and probably not only one, probably also two.
