One of your books I recently discovered and plan to read is Babies Come From Airports.

It tells the unique story of a boy whose mommy brings home his new sister from the airport.

And, you know, it teaches young readers about adoption in an easy to understand, fun way.

It came to be because at that point, I had many friends who had... had children from different birth countries and the the books that they had on adoption were really kind of saccharine sugary coated you know look what you know you've come to our lives kind of thing which is lovely but it didn't the the families that I knew they were real and they were fun and they had they had ups and downs and and so I really wanted to write a book for it for them um also just for those of you out there, babies come from airports, the title, no, they don't.

It, you know, if you get to page two, you'll understand there are other things behind this, but, but I wanted it to also have be a kid's view of adoption, you know, and, and all the craziness that goes on.

And actually Luciana Navarro Powell, who, excuse me, illustrated squirrel draws big feelings.

So we've been friends for many, many years and, And she has this great thing about her books that when she illustrates, she does the end papers tell a story.

She tells the beginnings of maybe this this journey in her end papers and the ending of this journey.

And then she was, she was emailing people who you had kids who were adopted and, and, and talked about, talk to them about their experiences and, and got photos so that she could think about what it was like at the airport and all that stuff.

But I wrote it out of love for all the kids that are part of families that are near and dear to our friends here.
