that's a good question think that the internet is this constant reminder that we could be sharing this with other people for all sorts of ulterior motives you know and um it's like i i i have this photography book by colin greenwood of radiohead and he talks about it like if i hold if i'm holding a camera because he brings a camera he puts it on his bass rig on stage and he talks about how during moments in the show when he's not playing bass he'll just like take a little snap And he feels this like push pull between being in the moment and capturing the moment.
There's good things about it, but I, yeah, I feel like social media is, Contentment historically, I think, has a lot to do with people sort of like getting a sense of where they're at in the world.
And earlier we were talking about, you know, contentment has to come from within.
And it used to be that you were sort of like, not in competition with, but playing this game with people on your block, people in your community.
now you have to see the opulence you know if you're if you're from a third you know third world country that's a very colonial term if you're from like a poor country and you see the opulence of you know the west america sneakers kanye you are sort of confronted with your lack.
And I think that the internet, it forces us to confront with like the comparison, you know, comparison is the thief of joy.
Like the internet is, is kind of like this, like absolute measurement stick that we have to deal with all the time.

Thief of joy and time, right? Because it's just built to turn you into an addict, right? It's like designed like slot machines.
And then on the way home, I dug into this amazing book that I recommended recently online called Get It While You Can by Nick Jaina, who's a songwriter from Oregon.
