The Chastening Of The Lord | Episode 10 | God's Word

And that is, how does God chasten us? How does God chasten us? God has a primary way of chastening us, and yet many people have not been taught how God chastens, so they believe everything is God chastening them.

Now, I need to be clear here again that God can use anything to chasten us, but that doesn't mean He wills bad things in our lives, even to chasten us.

Many people really believe that God's doing bad things to them to teach them something, that God is punishing them to teach them something or to chasten them or to correct them.

And while God can use, and I believe I've established this thoroughly in previous episodes, but God can use anything.

God can even use sin and turn evil.

the consequences of sin around for our good.

But I don't believe anybody would say God wills for you to sin and that God tempted you to sin because He had a higher purpose and He wanted to bring good out of it.

People won't say that.

But again, they talk about God's chastening in ways that are not biblical.

And so on the other hand, some people believe there is no chastening or correction from the Lord.

And we've established that as well, that God chastens those whom he loves.

That's you and me, brothers and sisters.

And so we better learn how does he do it then so that we can respond properly and get all the benefits and the fruit, the byproduct of the chastening of the Lord in our lives.

And man, I'm the first to say that there's not enough people, even in leadership today within our churches.

within the different formats that God's made available that are receiving God's chastening.

And it's hurting them and it's hurting the body of Christ.

So we all need to be subject and partakers of God's chastening.

So let's start in 2 Timothy 3.

And so the primary way God chastens us is with the Scriptures.
