Now on this episode of Digging Deeper with At The Cull Face, we have the pleasure of sitting down with Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development and about to be Acting Health Minister for a short time, Dale Last.

And that was nice to go along and receive that and catch up with some of my old work colleagues who were equally surprised.

I feel like you would have learnt a lot in your time in the police force, a lot of things that you would have, life lessons, things you would have been able to bring into the role that you're in now, would you say?

We were only talking about that the other day and I was talking to the Governor about that actually and about the number of ex-police officers that are in Parliament and certainly that ability to talk and communicate with anyone regardless of the circumstances is certainly an asset in this role.

As you'd appreciate, we get to talk with a myriad of people and sometimes they're cranky and they're upset and certainly sometimes Those skills and that ability that we develop over many, many years as a police officer stands you in good stead.

I mean, often we have politicians who perhaps haven't worked in a job where they're out in the public and they're doing a role that really would give you an insight into what everyday life and what people are dealing with.

And as you would appreciate when you're a police officer, you see the good and the bad.

And you're in that role where you are assisting the community, where you're protecting the community.
