you head there, and we've had this conversation in the past, not a recorded conversation, Mike, but just hearing your heart about the area.

You're not going there to share the gospel.

You're going there.

And this really hits home when you mentioned it the very first time.

It's a journey to see friends, as you've said, and it's to build relationships and it's to solidify that and to encourage others.

And that's not often what one would think about.

You'd think mission journey spread the gospel, but that's not the reason you go.

No, absolutely not.

It'll be futile for me to go into a country where I don't speak the language, I don't know the culture, I do not understand 13 years of war, I have no comprehension of the complete destruction.

So why not find the local church, equip them to do the job, because they speak the language, they know the culture, they share the same worldview.

So we absolutely go in to be with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

This is why we go.

We want to lift up and encourage and strengthen.

You know, Brad, I'm so acutely aware after this trip again.

that darkness has no power over light.

Darkness cannot overpower light.

Darkness only sets in when light is removed.

So the church basically has the power of light and darkness in their hands.

And therefore, when we strengthen the light in Syria, the church, when we lift them up, then we provide a space where darkness has to leave.

Darkness travel at the same speed than light.

When light moves in, darkness moves out, same speed.

And the opposite is also true.

So we go to strengthen the lampstand.

to be with the believers and and just say to them we are praying for you we standing with you we belong to the body of christ we love you and we will continue to be with you
