Um, but what I do also wanna say is that I think if you do have or you're building a game that has the potential to go viral on shorts, I think it's one of the best ways to market your game.

It's not only cheap, but I got paid by YouTube to promote my game, which is completely insane.

Um, and it's just really, you know, uh, once I got into the flow of it, it took me an hour to put together a script, an hour to record the footage, um, like 30 minutes to edit it together, 'cause I did...

Um, but if you have a game that, that I think does well on, on shorts and, and if you do a good job of creating the content, it's probably one of the strongest engines to get visibility on your game, and I think that's really important.

And personally, I think, uh, when I tackle my next game, I will definitely consider how to m- whether or not that game has potential to go viral on shorts, 'cause it just makes everything else so much easier, right? Uh, you're not begging streamers to play your game and hoping they put together decent or interesting content for it.

You're not begging, uh, you know, the press to, and/or reviewers to review your game and, and do all of this stuff, and you're not really, um, relying on others to market your game.

And I think, um, uh, because I have a little bit of a background in, in marketing, uh- I really don't want to rely on others selling my game for me, right? I wanna be the one who's kind of in charge of this all, 'cause it feels like I'm m- more in control that way.

And I think in my conversations that I've had, shorts is definitely the highest upside for indies.

in this time, in 2026, there's anything with as high of a ceiling for indie devs as short form, especially considering how s- how accessible it is, like you mentioned.
