Today we're talking about getting to know yourself.
And I wanted to focus on getting to know yourself when it comes to feeling like you want to give up or maybe when it comes to feeling some more hard emotions and also getting to know your thoughts.
Because what I've observed from my own experience is it's really helpful to not just move through the motions of your day to day life and not take a second to understand maybe why you feel the way that you do.
If it's.
overwhelm or anxiety or blah you're not you have no motivation you have no excitement for things you know whatever it is that's a hard thing to be feeling it can be really helpful to take time to understand the thoughts that are maybe creating these feelings or these beliefs maybe to take it a And sometimes you have a day where you just feel off and then the next day you feel fine and you don't feel like it's something that's lingering or staying.
But then there are times where there is something lingering and it's wrapped itself around you internally and it won't let go.
And we have all of these thoughts that come every single day that we experience every single day, but we might not even be conscious enough in the moment to listen to those thoughts and not to believe them.
Because that's a really big difference is like to listen to thoughts or to understand what thoughts are being thrown at you in your own head that could be creating hard feelings and believing them.
Obviously, an example would be, okay.
I accidentally interrupted I'm using this is like a social anxiety maybe anxious thought is you had a conversation you got excited and maybe you cut them off before the last word and you were like oh I don't want to do that anymore but you did it and then you feel bad about it and then maybe Now your thoughts around that are they don't like you, you're rude, all of these very black and white, like jumping from, oh, I accidentally got excited talking to them, cut them off in the last sentence to I'm rude, I'm horrible, et cetera, et cetera.
So how do we get from point A to point B so fast? I think that's a good thing to be aware of and understand about yourself if you have a tendency to do that with a lot of things.
Because then, A, you can understand yourself.
And maybe if you feel anxiety after social situations, maybe it is because your mind is flooded with all of these negative thoughts about yourself or these beliefs that you shouldn't be socializing because you're inept in some way.
And this is one example, one area, I guess, but it can be applied over anything.
So that's what we're talking about today.
I kind of wanted it to be an episode where if you feel like you want to throw in the towel on something or you just feel that something, a feeling is being stickier than normal and that you're having a hard time finding ways to feel like yourself again, to feel free in your own body, in your own mind, and to feel comfortable like integrated with your life and that's like a very we they use that term all the time when i was in yoga teacher training but to be actually living the life that you're given versus half in half out missing out on feelings opportunities and now from from my understanding at least it's to live fully in your life in your body in your mind and everything whether that's good and bad but to be fully accepting of the whole experience of human life like an unconditional acceptance and to not be stuck in your head or stuck somewhere emotionally that Now, you know, maybe something really brilliant is happening around you, but it's hard to feel that and to experience it fully because you're holding yourself back in some way and not intentionally most of the time.
You know, that's I think another part of this is to be really patient, which I'll get to.
