We lived in a boring town in a boring state, and I was outside investigating a window for signs of Nazi spies.

The previous Christmas, my mother gifted me the first five Nancy Drew mystery books.

I devoured them before New Year's.

I'd read all of them since.

I had definitely heard of her, and she's kind of become an archetype, I would say.

I remember playing a Nancy Drew point-and-click mystery where there was definitely a character based on Rose Valland, but I didn't know much about her as a person.

Amazing.

I feel like that's how you know you've made it when you have to some degree inspired a point and click adventure game.

I'm getting married next weekend as we're recording this.

So I'm currently wrapping up all my projects so I can... force myself to not just take a day off to get married, but we're going to Salem, Massachusetts right after.

So a nice little, again, Nancy Drew point-and-click mystery-esque honeymoon for us is on the

horizon.

Then she went to the bed and pulled back the curtains.

I'm pretty sure this was a Nancy Drew game.

Grandmother was lying there with her cat pulled over down her face and looking very strange.

Oh, grandmother, what big ears you have.

But it's not like, I mean, I stayed at the phone company for 20 years and I was threatening to leave forever and also thinking I was going to be fired every day forever.

But the work was really interesting and I love interesting work I love figuring things out which is why I loved litigation work you've got to you got to put on your Nancy Drew hat and go figure out what happened and how you're going to tell the story that

if something is boring or if it's the same every day that's not going to work for you you want to start an event I can tell

yeah and that's that's what's so great about working for Make-A-Wish is, it's not that, it hasn't been around that long.

Someone asked me a while ago, who, who are the powerful ladies I admired? And I realized as a kid, Most of them were fictional and I never thought of them as fictional so much.

I was reading Babysitter's Club and Nancy Drew and I was watching Gem and the Holograms and all of those were women way too young to be running businesses and they were.

There was no conversations in any of those spaces that they shouldn't be doing it.

They were doing it with their friends.

No.

And I then found her, tracked her down, um, like Nancy Drew, and invited-

... her to my house, and she came and read for me in my dining room.

you know those old video games where it's like you walk in and it's kind of got some light on there's something off about the animation because it has

to move like yeah it's like that they're literally doing a Nancy Drew video game it

is yeah oh my gosh so through this so so the idea is she finds a photo album I was starting to think maybe she was Greeley's wife but then we met David and she wants David yeah maybe David became Greeley I'm still kind of all over the place and I'm I guess because a lot of the dialogue is boring it's a it's boring a lot of the dialogue is boring because it is her asking a question and Sam really answering it and then sometimes Dean

going and who cares yes god bless him he's not wrong in this episode the the bigger point of this episode that it just doesn't really seem to be that interested in spending time on is that dean still views all of the supernatural stuff as like it's all evil it all needs to go there's no like you know nuance there yeah sam is like subtly while also trying to be like and you are a ghost yeah trying to be like well they don't ghosts or spirits or whatever they're what's left because they have unfinished business but it doesn't mean they're evil it just means and then like it definitely doesn't mean that who they were in life was evil which is true that's accurate
