How would you define high functioning burnout? Like, why is it so hard to recognize when from the outside, people just look like everything's working so perfectly?

So the way that I define it is what happens, high functioning burnout, when capable and caring people, they just keep showing up.

They keep doing the thing long after their internal resources have completely been depleted.

We have to show up, right? But we have to restore a way of living that has a sustainable rhythm where they can feel supported on the inside as they appear on the outside to others.

Basically, how do we get them filled up on the inside and give them resources to do that.

Like I forget that my partner doesn't get like a readout on my head of like 10% anxious, 90% stress, like whatever it is.

And I'm like, yeah, Isn't that obvious? You know, and you forget that it's not always obvious.

Like sometimes we don't want people to know, you know, so we just like show up high functioning all the time.

But sometimes we do want people to know and we don't realize that if we don't communicate it, that it's not obvious what we might need
