More than ever, we've seen a surge of socialism dominating the political spectrum. More candidates have adopted a socialist mindset than at any time in our modern history. The Daily Signal points out…

Bill, I think it's important that we begin by defining socialism so we, so we know from whence, you know, what, what, what our, our topic is here, what is a baseline.
Uh, Lenin said socialism is a transition phase from capitalism to communism.
And Karl Marx gave us the definition of com- communism in the Communist Manifesto.
He said, "Communism can be summed up in a single sentence: abolition of private property."
So capitalism is where individuals can own things, communism is where individuals own nothing, and socialism is a transition phase between the two of them.
And communists think there will be world peace when nobody owns anything.
And if you're naive enough to believe that, uh, the problem is that whenever the government's owning everything, government's run by people who want to keep their jobs, and they will always funnel benefits to those that are their friends and family members and supporters, and they will hold back benefits, uh, to their political enemies-
And they'll even weaponize the government against their strangers, and it happens every time, and it goes back to the concept that the default, uh, the default government for human nature, for humankind, is gangs.
And, uh, a gang leader with enough weapons we call a king or a pharaoh or a communist dictator.
Uh, you have, you know, Kim Jong Un in North Korea and Xi Jinping in China, and you can go through the list throughout the, the century.
So even though they called it the USSR, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, there is no republic.
They actually have a website now called the Freedom Index, which says, forget what a country calls itself.
