The Sin of Rebellion

But it says in Matthew 24, Jesus says one of the signs of the end of the times will be that everybody gets into...

What is it? Lawlessness.

Lawlessness.

You know, I thought, well, there'll be crime waves.

But it's actually a form of rebellion, just like lawlessness.

And, you know, the sad thing is I don't think people have really stopped to say, I'm in rebellion.

This is just rebellion coming everywhere.

You know, so I think that's the problem that we're having is that people don't recognize what they're doing.

And so on rebellion, you have to establish who your authority is.

Who is your authority? Because rebellion is always in opposition to authority.

Or it's always not doing what your authority says to do.

So the problem with that is that some people don't think that the Bible's their authority.

They don't think God's their authority.

But the problem is just because you don't recognize your authority doesn't mean it's not your authority.

I mean, you can't get a free pass of just saying, you've got to figure out who your authority is, or you won't know that you need to not be in rebellion to them.

So just because you don't recognize it doesn't give you that automatic free pass.

But it would be good for you to say, who's my authority? Who am I under authority with? So you have to look at rebellion.

So anyway, I want you to think about why would you describe a rebellious kid?

and would you describe yourself as having rebellion in you like do you feel like that you have like rebellion in you like it just oops no that's you know I just I just won't do that Okay, we're going to start with this scripture, and I just want to study rebellion because this is one who prophetically was told that rebellion was a problem in their life.

And so it's going to come from 1 Samuel 15.

It's what set up King David getting in office because he had a heart after God.

This rebellious heart was in a lot of trouble.

And this is one that we quote a lot, but I wanted you to know the context of this verse.

But in 1 Samuel 15, 23, Samuel has to come to Saul and tell him, Rebellion is like the sin of witchcraft.
