The Social Reckoning and our changing relationship with Zuckerberg and Meta

We- we'll get to The Social Reckoning in a moment, but I think we should maybe plant our feed for a moment in The Social Network when that movie came out because I, I love this movie.

I love The Social Network a lot.

It's a movie that came out in 2010.

Uh, I don't just love it because it's so iconic, I love it because it has a lot of different small parts that actually make it a much grander whole.

So we've got Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg.

We've got David Fincher directing the thing.

Aaron Sorkin wrote the script for that one, uh, based on the, the book, uh, Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich.

Uh, I, I should note, Aaron Sorkin, my man-

[laughs]

... won an Oscar.

[laughs]

Won an Oscar-

Mm.

Mm.

Mm

... for that script, which is, I feel important-

Mm-hmm

... to return to, so we're gonna return to that in a moment.

Uh, but Fran, I'll start with you, uh, f- uh, on, on this one.

Talk to me about, like, the place that The Social Network occupies for you as a movie.

I mean, I love that movie.

I agree that it's completely iconic.

It came out when I was in college, and I remember it being a huge moment.

And the idea of, like, every 19-year-old I knew at the time going out to see this movie about a website being founded now seems kind of insane to have that-

[laughs]
