Adenah Bayoh on Building Businesses, Community Wealth and Leading with Purpose

So I sit at a very unique intersection.

You do.

You do.

And that's literally what I was going to say is because you start out with the community impact and the passion around and the desire around making affordable housing accessible and available.

Yeah.

And then you talk about a restaurant in Cornbread and the uniqueness there and the desire to have that across the country.

These are lofty, lofty goals.

Correct.

And I'm up for the challenge.

I think all of this wraps around community center impact.

So I'll tell you what's the impact.

You know, we're opening up a cornbread next month, later this month.

But October 5th, 6th, we're going to have an opening for our fifth location in Brooklyn, Brownsville, New

York.

Brownsville, New York is, you want to see economic injustice? Go to brownsville.com.

Brooklyn, right? That is the space where I think Cornbread fits in.

We may be opening up one location, but we would end up having employed roughly about 25 to 30 individuals in a community that has been heavily disinvested in.

Not because the people are not desperate for a sit-down restaurant.

We will be the first sit-down restaurant in Brownsville in over 50 years.

Really? And I'm not counting McDonald's and all of these things.

I'm talking about quality sit-down restaurant where you can go with your family.

And this is 2026, right? Yep.

I'm talking about going in communities that people have written off and be the catalyst for that change and be that person that spark up that imagination.

I want to be that person that make Chipotle say, let's look at Brownsville.

Yeah.
