Obviously we know in the beginning, Adam in the garden, incredible really, he walked in the cool of the evening in the garden with the Lord.

That's amazing, right? That literally God, the one who created the heavens and the earth was by the word and by the power of His Spirit, He would choose to walk and be present with His creation in the garden.

And here's the reality is that although we lost that ability to be in that unbroken union when sin came in, the beautiful thing about the gospel is, is that the gospel reconciles man back to peace relationship with God.

Which means that you and I, through Jesus Christ, now have the ability to walk with the Lord.

Often our wives come to us or our children's mothers, they come and they say, I expect you to do this and this and this and this.

But let me tell you, the best place to be a great father flows from being a great son to the heavenly Father.

Galatians 5 tells us that we are, if we live by the Spirit, we are also to keep in step with the Spirit.

In other words, there's a rhythm, there's a pace, and it's not us running off in our own direction.

Our goal is to stay in lockstep with where the Spirit is going, and as we walk with the Lord, let me tell you, there's a place of blessing and abundance.

And so I'm talking about he's an example of a man who walked with God through decades and centuries of faithfulness and staying in step with the Lord.

That's a great prize for us as men to attain to, to be men who are known for walking with God.

A lot of focus on men, and fathers particularly, goes onto what we do for other people.

And it's funny, right, because men oftenly, sometimes we've gone to the habit of deferring spirituality to the woman in our lives.
