If you've ever had to request an Uber or Lyft from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, then you're familiar with the long, painful, confusing walk to the rideshare pickup area.

So, yes, as you said, right now, passengers have to walk from the terminal to the red parking garage.

And if you haven't been to the airport since 2018, when they move the rideshare pickup area, it's this chaos.

crazy walk you you come out from your gate you you exit into like the check-in area if you checked a bag you have to go downstairs but then you have to come back up and then you have to go over this like bridge that has like outdoor artwork and then you go into the red garage which is where the car rental area is and you're like oh where do we go do we go up do we go down oh it's so confusing and then You make it, and then you're there after your 12-hour journey to get your Uber.

So last week, the airport announced on social media that it's actually going to make the terminal entrance closer to that rideshare area.

So yes, technically, it's going to be closer to the rideshare area, but they are building the entrance to the terminal out to meet it.

Essentially, the walk time is not going to change because the rideshare area is staying in that spot.

But now it's just going to be indoors and it's going to feel like you're not walking that long, maybe because it's air conditioned.

What is happening? So, yes, everyone's announcing like, oh, yeah, it's getting closer.

All I can think about when I'm doing this is that like when I'm actually making this journey that you were talking about.
