So, okay, how I wanted to start this podcast today is I wanted to ask all of you listeners a question.

When is the last time you praised God before he fixed your problem? That's a really good question for me.

even though um so as i was kind of studying i learned that the hebrew name for psalms i hope well i know i'm going to not pronounce it right um but the hebrew name for psalms is tehillim which literally means praises that's what psalms means is praises so um we praise god when he blesses us, but can we praise him before he blesses us? Or even if he blesses us, maybe in not the way we expected.

One big theme in the the chapters of psalms this week is um that we start in the the worst of it and then we end in praise and so um you know psalm 102 we'll get into these two later but well psalms 102 opens with genuine anguish anxiety isolation feeling forgotten And then by Psalms 150, it's praise him with trumpet, praise him with dance, praise him with everything that has breath.

And in between all of that, we get comfort, we get prophecy, we get guidance, we get family, we get identity.

And so it's just kind of like in the messy middle this week is where we're going to be.
