And now, if parents and teachers reading this book, what would you want the most important idea to be for those who've read this? What message...

I think that the overarching idea of the book is that we focus so much on whether children are normal, having a normal child, what is normal.

And that I think what I want to convey and what I believe to be important is that children, whoever they are, with whatever mental health difficulty, with whatever personality quirk, with whatever their unique self is, that those children be celebrated as they are, that we create an environment which accepts those children as being normal, that everybody's normal, that every peculiar thing unique feature of every particular child can find a place where they can be the best, the happiest, the most fulfilled, the most successful as they are.

That instead of trying to fit kids into some weird notion of normal, that we start developing environments which are accepting of all children, because all children are different.

And that we start, you know, thinking about the ways that we can accommodate children, as opposed to forcing them to accommodate to an arbitrary, unwelcoming and unaccepting world.
