Chris BidermanHostUh, I'm, I went from thinking the 49ers were going to win that game by 50 to, after the Commanders' touchdown drive, they made it 23 to 10, I was like, "Did they just take their foot off the gas? Did they also think they were gonna win this game by 50, and did they take their foot off the gas a little bit early? Eh, it's okay.
They, they, they kinda d- put this thing away." And then they went three and out.
I was like, "Are they gonna lose now? Are they really gonna lose this game in the first half they had no business losing?" Uh, but we talked about it a little bit before the game in our preview episode and, and it didn't manifest itself in the way, the way we talked about it, but I, I do think it still manifested itself, that kinda institutional knowledge of winning, that, those, those little things on the margins that are the difference in, in NFL games.
And they held on to win and, uh, I'm very much in a, a win is a win is a win, uh, phase for the 49ers.

And, you know, just coming from the, the post-game podium session, like Brock Purdy and George Kittle, um, were pretty pissed about the way they played in the second half.

And if they score, um, any points on those three possessions, the game feels a whole lot different than it did.

Instead of a nail-biter, it's, I don't wanna say a comfortable win, but a win that would have [laughs] required a lot less maybe mental energy, right? Um, and so the, the upshot for me, just, like, listening to those guys talk about the game and how pissed off they were is like, this team has aspirations to win the Super Bowl, rightfully so, right? Like they're 6 and 0.

And Fred Warner said, you know, "We need to be building towards playing our best when our best is needed." And George Kittle reiterated, like, they're gonna get chewed out this week by Kyle Shanahan probably for all the missed assignments on offense, um, and everything that went wrong in the second half.

Um, he thought there was, it was just super sloppy, and that while it's great to be 6 and 0, uh, there were just a lot of mistakes and the, the, the offense clearly didn't play up to snuff.

Um, and I think you could obviously trace some of it to just not having Mike Evans on the field, because he can be-

But they just, the, the offense was just frankly bad over those last three possessions.
