2 Corinthians 3 Q&A with Carl Matthei

"You mentioned that the old covenant was founded upon the Israelite’s obedience but wasn't it also initiated by God's grace and mercy? (Bringing them out of slavery in Egypt Exodus 20:3). Obedience seems to follow God's grace?" "Is there a distinction between Sinai covenant and God's promises of unconditional "Hesed" (love)  to Abraham and David? Unity / distinction?" "If the old covenant is not meant to be used, and we cannot go back, how do we know what laws still apply to us, and what laws do not, if they are not mentioned in the new covenant?" "V18 what does it mean for us to have an unveiled face? (Kind of like how later in 4:4 Satan blinds unbelievers and Jesus unblinds us?)" "I wonder if freedom in v17 is more about freedom from sin or from the veil (true to see the point of the law) more so than freedom from the law?" "Does our freedom in Christ create an environment for lukewarm faith/is lukewarm faith works based?" "Could you agree Catholicism & Orthodoxy still follow the New Covenant ministry? It's just the extent people pursue the requirements of denominations that can be misguiding?" "How do you help a friend you think is going into Old Law / Catholicism for the wrong reasons?" "What if you're struggling to want to obey God? Does this mean he is not at work in you?" "We still sin even with the holy Spirit which helps us internally obey God - is the Spirit partially limited or fully or is this just the 'gradual' (rather than immediate) nature of His working?"
