So, not only has Ken Sim gone down to defeat, but... 43 other incumbent mayors have been defeated province-wide.

That's 48% against Ken Sims, 33%, Colin Hardwick at 9%, Karima Lamb at 5%, and Rebecca Bly at 4%.

It's why I messaged you before I went to bed and said we should record tomorrow.

They've done this before, if I just forgot, but they had kind of the panel live streams with reporters at various election parties across the province going to Justin McElroy regularly for the nerdy, wonky analysis.

He mentioned that he's going to have to update his municipality song with the incorporation of Okanagan Falls and its first election ever.

But it was a chaotic night, right? McElroy pointed out that their analysis suggests as many as 80% of incumbents tend to get re-elected but that did not happen last night it might have happened at council levels we'll have to eventually crunch all the numbers i did a quick ask and it's somewhere in the 40s of mayors across the 160 municipalities across the province that were defeated last night and quite a few in metro van only five were re-elected and so many were defeated so we're starting here in vancouver pete fry the first Green party mayor in Canada, second person of color, second non-Scottish mayor.

So, you know, maybe not by specific origin in Ken Sim's case, but they are still Scottish names that you will find in Scotland.
