Send us Fan Mail Back in 1996 I wrote a TV Guide Canada cover story on a local actress then making a name for herself on North America’s No. 1…
But when we spoke for that cover story, it was amazing because ER was such a phenomenon.
... you know, you had to go to the door, and there was a guy with a bottle of Dom Perignon from Don Ohlmeyer, basically, "Congrats, we're number one." And, uh, you were joking that this was h- starting to turn into a weekly occurrence.
It's extraordinary, and, um, I have to say the, truly the blessings, many of them that have occurred in my life, and if, when we're talking about career and creativity in particular, you know, the projects that I, I have had the joy to work on, and, you know, and the challenge and the, um, experience and all of those things that come along with working on a highly intelligent, a highly successful show, uh, the outcome of all of that effort and all of that creativity, the outcomes rather, have been incredible, not just in those moments where it's celebratory, but, um, in the, for me, even the more important moments of the storyline, and in particular for Jeanie Boulet, and frankly, a lot of the incredible stories that we covered on ER for those many years, how those still, uh, impact viewers today.
And for that to happen 30 years later and continuously is really in its own right, uh, something to celebrate.
There's a whole new generation, of course, that is new to ER thanks to obviously streamers and- Perhaps one of the very, very few positive things that came out of the pandemic, [laughs]
And to c- to be approached by young people, and frankly at this stage and age, you know, every- everybody's a young person to me frankly.
But to be ap- approached by, [laughs] you know, 30-year-olds or, or, you know, generation, a generation ago and, and having them express to me in person the impact that that show has on them after having watched it only recently is...
I carry a lot of things with me, um, especially when it comes to the impact that, the positive impact that the work that I've done and that I continue to do can have on other people.
Well, you, you certainly carry that experience with you in a, on a very fascinating, diverse career.
