Hello, this is Jim Pugh with God Is Government (www.godisgovernment.com). I am here to make a request to the church community. Scripture tells us that the Church, which is you by definition, to provide support to the brethren in need. Such need exists now and I am appealing to the church for support.
Cody Wacasey is a man that I begin to mentor in 2009.
Cody is a God-fearing Christian who loves the Lord. Cody attends church regularly, supports the church community in helping with needs of the brethren and has become a father that his five children look up to. His wife Gwen, also a Christian, supports her husband as instructed through the Bible.
Cody is an entrepreneur and began that business as part of the mentorship efforts. While the start of business is always stressful Cody achieved something that only few ever do. He became a leading architect in the local DFW and surrounding cities.
On July 5th this year, Cody began having intestinal issues, which over time as it was watched and treated grew worse that lead to emergency surgery on Thursday, August 13, 2026. It was found that his intestines had many abscesses. Two critical. One attached itself to his bladder and the other was perforated, leaking bacteria into his abdomen. The doctors removed the abscesses with the exception of the one flowing toxins. They had to remove a section of his large intestine and place a colostomy bag on him to allow the time to heal his intestines. Upon healing the doctors will reverse the colostomy.
Now this is the need:
The doctors told Cody he will be limited in work. He cannot lift anything until the reversal of the colostomy takes place and its healing. The doctors estimate that this time period could take up to 10 months. The doctors have told Cody he will not feel like sitting and laying down will be most likely what will comfort him on this journey. The problem is that Cody is the bread winner of the family, and the job requires up to 12 hours a day to do. He will be limited in obtaining new architect jobs because of his limitation of travel, etc. While he will be able to work it is expected that his available time will be cut in half or more.
In order to heal as fast as the body can, the doctors told him to make sure he limits the stress in his life.
This is where the Church comes in.
I met with Cody on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, and had a frank discussion about everything he had going and to determine what we could do to move things off his plate to local people that have the skillsets to perform. The other item we discussed was his finances. His monthly need to support his home of seven is10,000 a month. For 10 months that would be 100,000 to support all his family of seven obligations. THIS IS THE ASK FOR THE CHURCH TO HELP.
The Bible tells us in order for us to receive the blessing God has given to us in Ephesians 1:3 we must first give in like manner for that which we wish to receive. It also tells us that we are to tithe with our first fruits and then support with love offerings to those brethren in need. Scripture does not define love offering as tithe. We only ask the Church family to support the need with whatever God lays on your heart of a love offering. This love offering request should not replace your tithe as commanded by our Lord and Savior.
We ask that you pray and have God reveal to your heart the level of support He wishes you to make. We want to thank each of you in advance for being dutiful to God’s Word and His instruction.
Please click on this link to provide your love offering. Please put the name of Cody in the notes when you submit your offering.
