What happens when the life you worked so hard to build no longer feels like where God is asking you to stay? Melissa Wilkinson knows that tension well. She has walked away from a six-figure…
Melissa WilkinsonGuestBrook SheehanHostFirst off, Melissa, the thing that I need to say to everything you just spoke about there before I give my little notes to the listener is God honored that obedience.
And you're living proof you're standing here today walking in that obedience, because this is the thing that you as the listener, I want you to take away from what she just shared there is that so often we're in high mountaintops.
in our lives, in our work, in our business, whatever it is, we're on these high mount tops.
And we are not necessarily thinking that it's God calling us to basically come off the mountain and go into the valley.
And I'm not saying the valley in a negative sense, Melissa, but sometimes it's just there is the demotion.
And I know I know, I know, I know with 100% certainty in my bones that it is the Lord.
Because the Lord doesn't call you to something that's going to, it's not always going to be easy, right? Moses wasn't called to just let my people go and everything's going to be fine.
We're just taking them from point A to point B. I mean, there was a lot of character building.
And there was a lot of character building, Melissa, that he was doing for you in that process.
I'm giving up all of this, all of this beautiful Maui, you know, this island lifestyle, these trips, these things that you had going for you because the Lord was calling you to do that.
So I just want to call that out for what it is, because I think that there are so many of us listening even now that there are things that we know that we shouldn't be doing or that we need to let go of control or let go of the outcome.
Whereas Jesus standing here with this huge teddy bear behind his back, and there's a little boy with this baby, baby teddy bear.
And Jesus has his one hand extended out, like, give me your baby teddy bear, because he's about to give him this massive teddy bear.
And oftentimes that's where we find ourselves in life is we're not willing to let go of the six figure income of the potential dream house of all these things.
