So let's get through segment one rather quickly, shall we? We always start our show 14 minutes later with our box office segment where we go over the previous week's one through five, see who won the weekend and who lost the weekend.
We start with our predictions.
Every end of segment one, we always predict the following weekend, and then we start the next with how we did as well.
So let's take a look at the results.
Jake finishing second, actually.
No, Jake, you lost the weekend.
Jake loses the weekend predicting two out of five, getting Practical Magic at one.
Then he predicted The Odyssey at two, Spider-Man at three, The Uprising at four, and Coyote the Acme at five, getting one in five correct, Practical Magic two, and Coyote the Acme.
Practical Magic two coming out and doing its job, earning close to $40 million in order to earn, or a little over $30 million, I should say, in order to earn its first spot, finally overtaking Spider-Man Brand New Day.
Then...
Hey, I'm not going to say I won the weekend, but I tied with Claude, and we'll talk about TJ here in a minute.
I predicted Practical Magic 2 at 1, Spider-Man at number 2, The Odyssey at 3, The Uprising at 4, and Runner at 5.
Runner is the Andrew Garfield film, and I did not win that.
That's okay.
Runner is not
no no sorry the uprising is the andrew garfield film excuse me i apologize runner is the uh alan and owen wilson excuse me sorry i got this confused the uprising is the andrew garfield film i predicted those at four and five and i got both of those wrong at the end but i did get the first three correct and then claude was very similar to mine practical magic two at one spider-man brand new day at number two but then he had the uprising at three and the odyssey at four getting both those wrong and then accurately predicting coyote the acme at five our season totals jake still leads the way at 77 but his slump has allowed me and tj to catch back up i'm still second now down four with 73 points and tj's right behind me with 72 as the competition continues to get more and more tight as we continue through the halfway point of the season and with that let's go ahead and take a look at the one through five in the right order and let's give you the numbers Practical Magic 2, again, wins the weekend, followed by Spider-Man finally being usurped at number one, dropping to number two this week.
Runner finishes third, followed by, or actually, sorry, the Odyssey finishes third, the Runner finishes fourth, and Kyrie V. Acme finishes fifth.
That's your one through five.
Let's go back to the top.
It earns $46 million globally on a $75 million budget.
The only issue with this release is It was projected to earn 40, and it earned 30.
So still kind of a drop-off, but not necessarily anything to sleep on.
