West Jones rolls, Laurel defense shines

Southern Miss defeated Louisiana 35-31.

Jamaris Wilder, he scored on a 16-yard run with 58 seconds remaining.

And it ended...

USM's five-game losing streak.

Wilder had a great game, man.

He finished with 154 rushing yards.

You also had Steven Robertson.

He added 145 yards.

He had three touchdowns.

This was the Sunbelts' best rush defense, and they went head-on right into them and were able to pile up a ton of yards.

I mean, there was just so much going on, in that game it was back and forth but i'm glad that southern miss and usm they were able to close one out they improved to two and five on the year they're one and two in the sunbelt you know i was pretty harsh on southern miss and it stirs some people up from what i understand about southern miss and their recruiting habits and everything else and just failing to seem to finish games and Just whatever you could find.

I kind of went on a rant.

But I will give them credit where it is due.

They went in there and they fought with Louisiana.

And they come away with a home win.

And it's a pretty big morale booster, I feel like, for Southern men.

So I want to give them their flowers.

You know, Wilder, he had a, I believe it was a 28-yard run or a fourth and one during the final possession game.

you know that's just huge that is huge and and if those guys will play with those chips or the chip on their shoulder maybe they can make a run down the stretch not saying that they're going to go bowling they might not going to say they're going to go undefeated certainly at the rest of the year but i think that this was a big win for coach blake anderson and the southern miss golden eagles anyway they'll go Next Saturday on Halloween at 2.30 they'll play ULM so we'll see what happens there.
