West Jones High School

We got the first one up.

Hattiesburg and West Jones.

This one was the region crown matchup.

And Hattiesburg wins it.

They have had a knack of beating West Jones this season.

The past few years, man, they've just had a knack of being able to beat West Jones, and they once again do that.

They win 20-15, Hanksburg's defense.

They disrupted the Mustangs early.

What's kind of the big games that you have on your list that you want people to know about tonight?

I think the biggest, and first of all, I appreciate you guys bringing me back on again, but I would say that my biggest matchup of this week would be that Hattiesburg-West Jones game.

That most likely, for all intents and purposes, is for the number one seed in that region.

And both those teams have basically been the one and two seed for this region for the last three years, and I think it's going to be the fourth year this year.

I'm actually rolling with Hattiesburg to win this game.

West Jones has had a good offense this year.

And Hattiesburg did have that 40-0 loss to Meridian, which I think made everybody kind of throw them to the side.

But I don't think that that was a normal thing that we're going to see.

Unfortunately, it did not go their way.

And on the high school side, West Jones kept rolling.

Law's defense supplied everything.

Just a ton of touchdowns.

Some nearby, some coast notes.

Hattiesburg defeated George County 32-7.

We'll obviously have Hattiesburg and West Jones.

That's going to decide the district or the region, however you want to call it.

So moving on to Jones County.

We did not have people at Northeast Jones or Laurel or West Jones this week because they were all on the road.

So I'm just going to kind of quickly go through.

These games, the one that we had the least information on was Laurel and Natchez, but apparently it was a really good win.

They had a convincing road win.

And, you know, after edging out, George County in the region opener, they give themselves a more comfortable Friday night at Terry where they won 38-12.

So, West Jones and Hattiesburg are squaring off for that region championship.

I think that's going to be the one and two seeds.

Region 2-6A gives us Calloway right here in Jackson, Canton, Greenville in the Delta, Neshoba, Ridgeland, and Warren Central.

Region 3-6A has Forest Hill, George County, Hattiesburg, Jim Hill, Terry, and West Jones.

And then in Region 4-6A, you've got Gautier, Hancock, Long Beach, Pascagoula, Pearl River Central, and Picayune.

So let's start with the ladies.

But you're going up against Saltillo, and they couldn't overcome that.

The Southern line had kind of more of a balanced tournament when it comes to goals scored and teams being comparable, talent-wise, I guess.

West Jones made it to the second round, defeating Picayune 3-0.

They defeated Hancock 1-0, but ended up falling to Long Beach in a 2-1 battle.

Jones College came within three points of yet another top 10 opponent.

And also make sure to stick around for the backside of the show where we will go over South Jones winning by one point, West Jones surviving a turnover-filled game, and Northeast Jones closing out the thing strong in region play and starting out one and O.

Well, let's go ahead and get right into it.

Looking into Mississippi college football, Mississippi State was off this week.

They're sitting at 1 and 5 overall.

They haven't been competitive really in any game, I don't believe.

I know that's saying a lot with saying 'cause Laurel has a, has a 1 and 5 record too, but what they did beat West Jones, and I think that that's more impressive than a 17 to 12 victory over Franklin County.

Um, because they lost 35 to 13 to West Jones on September the 18th.

I don't know why they played them.

West Jones, they beat them by 35.

Presbyterian by 46.

Hartfield by a touchdown.
