Dan Middleditch - Rock and Roll Revivalist

I tried doing a version of an Elvis tribute show where I was like, I'm going to just be me doing my own versions.

I tried it on my first contract.

It just wasn't good.

I had no idea what I was doing with that process.

And then...

I was like, you know what, I want to do my own show.

And so I put this show together where I did these original arrangements, like modernized arrangements of Elvis songs.

And I was like, I'm going to be a guest entertainer.

And I put this show together completely different than the show that I do now.

In the process of that, I was doing the Buddy Holly story where I was playing Buddy Holly at the same theater I did Million Dollar Quartet at in Florida.

And I got picked up by Don Cassino, my agency now.

And then I got a call from my agent that was like, hey, you know, Princess Cruises is really interested in your show, but they really want to have like a little bit more Elvis in it.

And I went,

yes, let's do it.

So I sent

them a video of, you know, just from Million Dollar Quartet.

Right.

And they said, great.

We want that because we're reopening the Japanese season on the Diamond Princess, which is where we are now.

We're reopening the Japanese season and we really want to have an Elvis show throughout the season and in and out of the ships.

And I said, great, cool, let's go to Japan.

I've always wanted to go to Japan ever since I was a kid.

I've been obsessed with Japan ever since I was probably eight years old.

For the way that guys are obsessed with Elvis, I was obsessed with Japan.

Right.
