Over the weekend I got to sit in the front row with my longtime mentor John Maxwell. He’s one of my favorite leadership role models and he’s written nearly 100 books! I'm sharing the lessons that hit…
a time and I gleaned so much from it I could read a book three times and get three different things out of it every time I read it so one of the first things I want to tell you that he talked about today that I thought was so cool he was talking about that basically all the things he talks about it with the same subject matter you know leadership relationships failure that was one of my favorite ones failure and he told us today and I've heard him say it before but he's written a new book called I think a return on failure yeah return on failure and he talked about that what we've done in society or what we've done but mistakenly done is we separate success and failure we think success is over here and failure is over there But that's not true.
Because when you are learning, you don't know if something's gonna work or not until you try it, right? And you're either gonna learn from it, you're gonna succeed from it, you're gonna grow from it, but all those things.
He said, if you don't have success and failure together and you have success without failure, which you won't, it keeps you humble.
It makes you know that to get to that level of success, there were many bumps along the way.
I know that I have failed miserably so many times, and I probably do it on a weekly basis.
So another thing he talked about that I thought was so cool, he was talking about a guy came up to him and said, I want to do what you do.
