Dan Fouts on Dennis Miller, Al Michaels, Monday Night Football, Justin Herbert, and more

Um, let's do some, uh, current events before we finish up in the NFL.

We'll start with the obvious question.

What is, what is wrong with the chargers right now? I mean, nobody expected them to be own three at this point in the season.

Well, there's no question about that statement.

Is there, um, you know, I think obviously their problems are on the offensive side of the ball.

More defense seems to be really, playing better to do what they did to get against Buffalo on Sunday was outstanding, getting those turnovers.

And they'll continue to play well.

The offense needs to build some confidence.

And you do that by stringing together successful plays, successful drives, successful quarters, halves, games.

And that's where they're at right now.

Their confidence is probably at the lowest it's been in a long time.

But it's 14 more games.

14 more games.

I mean, the season, everybody wants to say the season's over.

They have a brutal schedule coming up.

There's no question about that.

But it was going to be a brutal schedule starting with Buffalo on Sunday, and the Chargers created those turnovers and had a 10-point lead.

So offensively, just... build your confidence, gain some type of momentum.

Obviously, Jim Harbaugh, the head coach, have Mike McDaniel and Adam Gase on the staff, all on the offensive side of the ball.

Is it possible that it's too many voices, too many cooks in the kitchen type of scenario?

Well, I'm not in the kitchen, so I really don't know about that.

I know that those guys have all been successful.

And, you know, the thing about The hardball is he'll get it squared away.

I mean, there's no question in my mind that this will go on much longer.

You're around the team during the preseason, so you know how NFL teams today handle the preseason.
